We knew we weren’t being dramatic. Doctors have FINALLY acknowledged our pain and classed it as bad as heart attacks.
To all the men who are rolling their eyes at the title, it was one of your own who said this. Professor of reproductive health, at University College London, John Guillebaud is the one responsible.
He told Quartz that women have been describing the pain as ‘almost as bad as having a heart attack’.
We've beeeeeen saying ☹️😔😣

It has been years of us being labelled ‘dramatic’ and ‘over-exaggerating’. We can’t forget the classic remedy of ‘Paracetamol and Ibuprofen’ and ‘Feminax’ for really bad pain.
To all the girls who suffer from excruciating period pain/menstrual cramps, our screams are finally being heard.
When I was in labor with my first child, I didn't know I was in labor because the pain wasn't as bad as my monthly cramps!!

Even though it took one man’s voice to be heard over thousands of ours, John is doing it for the team.
If men had periods, ‘menstrual leave’ would probably be a thing.
